Zion is not all work and no play. We are a close knit church family. Please join us and see how you can be a part of some of our favorite activities below.

Fall Activities

Zion members find fun and festive ways to join multi-generational members together to do God’s work. Pictured here is our Rake & Run fall event. We are always helpful to those in need and yard work can pile up if you aren’t able to do it yourself. We send out a group to help assist with those fall leaves followed by a picnic at one of our generous congregation members. This is a fun event for all ages!

Concerts

We love music at Zion and we love musical performances. We go to and host concerts. Purpose Palooza is our biggest music festival held in July. In the fall of 2019, the Sanyuka Children’s Choir visited with us all the way from Africa (pictured to the right). They brought their beautiful, authentic African sounds of praise and worship to our congregation.

Advent Fest

Advent Festival is a wonderful family event held in early December that allows children and their families to create Christ centered crafts. After all, He is the reason for the season! In past years crafts have included advent wreaths, nativity gingerbread houses, chocolate making, and so much more. Participants take all of their masterpieces home with them. This event is FREE and open to all.

Care Team

Pastor Jim and a group of Zion members meet regularly as the Care Team, to help keep up with the needs of church members and families, and to make plans to help. Care Team members are trained to accompany people going through all kinds of challenges, make visits, pray, and provide resources and support.

Home Communion

Zion members who can’t make it to Sunday worship services are still a valued part of our church. The Care Team and others regularly bring communion to people who are home-bound, in a hospital or other care facility, or in other circumstances that prevent them from attending worship. The visitors are blessed by this time together, as well as the people being visited!

ELCA Youth Gathering!

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.

Zion Church Women

This is the longest-serving group currently active at Zion, supporting the ministry of all the women of the church!
