At Zion, we have many programs geared towards youth and families to further their relationship with God, give back to their community and enjoy Christ’s blessings.

Sunday School

Sunday School Classes are offered year-round for all ages, infants through adults between the worship services every Sunday from 9:40 am until 10:40 am.  All are welcome.

Baptism

Baptism is an individual’s incorporation into the crucified and risen body of Jesus. It is symbolic of God’s love for all and provides a sense of comfort and assurance that all are saved from sin in the name of Jesus Christ.

Confirmation Classes

Confirmation, which is now commonly called Affirmation of Baptism, is the time when young people declare for themselves that they will live out the promises made for them by their parents and sponsors in their baptism. The years spent in confirmation classes are intended to continue, more intentionally, the exploration of faith, faith and life, and faith and the church so that students can make that affirmation of baptism statement of faith in the hope and trust that God will continue to lead and guide them in all the aspects of their lives now and in the future.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a week long event during the summer with the focus on religious youth education. Each year we have a new theme, crafts, songs and message. This is a fun event for children ages K-6.

Luther League

ELCA Youth Gatherings

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. The dates for the next ELCA is June 29-July 3, 2021.

God’s Work Our Hands

At Zion we believe it is important to do God’s work in the community. We have done everything from raking leaves for the elderly, to soup kitchens, to food drives. Giving back is more than a volunteer opportunity for us, it is a way of life.
